Prime Minister: Going abroad, searching each container to bring equipment back to build the 500kV line
The Prime Minister requested to launch a special peak competition, "sprint", "lightning speed" to strive to basically finish erecting the 500kV line in June and complete the project in July.
The Prime Minister inspected the 500kV line in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An
On the morning of June 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh continued to inspect the site, urge and motivate the staff, workers, employees and chaired a meeting with relevant agencies on the implementation of the 500kV power transmission line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach - Pho Noi.
Inspecting the construction of column 22 in Quynh Trang commune, Hoang Mai town, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the results of the forces' deployment, when they transported nearly 200 tons of steel on rugged and difficult mountainous terrain to erect an 88m high electric pole.
Visiting the construction site to encourage workers
Here, the Prime Minister encouraged the union members and youths who are increasing their support for construction, supporting the transportation of materials and equipment to the foot of the project, continuing to promote the spirit of the Truong Bon victory, supporting the project more actively, and moving towards participating in many other large projects.
Previously, on the afternoon of June 22, the Prime Minister inspected, urged, and presented gifts to encourage the forces constructing the Thanh Hoa 500kV transformer station and the construction force pulling the 109-117 reinforcing wire in Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province.
Chairing a meeting with three localities (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh) and the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) on the morning of June 23, the Prime Minister praised the great efforts and determination to complete the transmission line with the spirit of "rolling around on the construction site, even sending people abroad, searching through each container to bring the equipment back to the country".
He also thanked the team of cadres, engineers and workers of units of the electricity sector across the country who came to support the implementation of the 500kV transmission line project, working enthusiastically and selflessly in the hot weather of the Central region; thanked the people who gave up land for the project; people, organizations such as women, veterans and especially the Youth Union who supported the construction forces and participated in possible tasks.
The Prime Minister emphasized the lesson that it is necessary to have high determination, great efforts, drastic actions, clear people, clear work, clear time, clear products, thereby making it easy to inspect, monitor and evaluate; allocate capital sources, focus resources on the project; mobilize the entire local political system to participate, complete site clearance work in advance and mobilize local forces and means in the spirit of "unanimity, determination, all people, comprehensiveness, and wholeness".
Reporting on the project, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An said that this is a project for all people, not just the electricity sector. The project has a large volume but is being done at lightning speed.
EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An said that the electricity sector also never thought it could do such a fast project
Launching a peak competition, sprinting to complete the 500kV transmission line project
He gave an example, the 700km Quang Trach - Pleiku project previously took 4 years. Meanwhile, for this project, on January 25, 2024, when the Prime Minister met in Thanh Hoa with 9 provinces about the 500kV circuit 3 project, the site clearance had not yet been completed.
"The electricity industry itself never thought it would be possible to complete the project so quickly," said Mr. An, affirming his determination to basically complete the project by the end of June and complete the acceptance procedures and inaugurate the entire project in July.
However, there are still some difficulties that affect the project's progress. Of which, 157 pole positions are still being handed over as steel poles; the projects need to mobilize a large number of highly skilled, experienced, and technically qualified personnel; In particular, due to the impact of extreme hot weather, some days of heavy rain, thunderstorms causing construction interruptions...
To overcome these difficulties, the Prime Minister requested to launch a special "high-point" emulation period, "sprint", "lightning speed" to strive to basically complete the work of erecting poles, pulling wires, and testing in June; in July, conduct inspections, carry out technical operation procedures, acceptance, environmental restoration and inaugurate the project.
He assigned EVN to focus on erecting poles, pulling wires, operating transformer stations, implementing necessary procedures... Localities coordinate to hand over the route corridor, mobilize youth, women, veterans... to support the implementation of other tasks such as transporting raw materials, equipment, logistics services, accommodation... so that workers can concentrate on working; review and ensure that people who have given up land for the project have a better life or the same as their old place of residence.
