The Lao Cai-Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project is a double-circuit project with a total length of 229.5km, passing through 4 provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc. The project has a total investment of more than 7,410 billion VND, of which 80% is a loan from the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), the remaining 20% is EVN's counterpart capital.
Upon completion, this line will help release about 2,000MW of capacity from hydropower plants in the Northwest region and neighboring provinces to the national grid, increasing the ability to import electricity and reducing power loss in the system.
The section passing through Yen Bai province alone is 90.06km long, with 173 pole foundation locations (from VT102 to VT274), passing through 2 districts: Luc Yen and Yen Binh. The project contributes to ensuring energy sources for the province's medium and long-term development goals, increasing budget revenue, and creating job opportunities for local businesses and workers.
Notably, this is the groundbreaking ceremony for the first item of this line, undertaken by Song Da 11 Joint Stock Company, marking an important first step for the national key project.
The leader of Song Da 11 affirmed that in this project, the company will continue to promote the spirit of determination and participate strongly as it has done before to contribute to bringing the 500kV line 3, Quang Trach-Pho Noi, to the finish line at lightning speed before.
With extensive experience in power transmission projects, the representative of Song Da 11 emphasized that the company's officers and employees will devote all their efforts, mobilize maximum human resources and equipment, coordinate closely with investors and localities, commit to construction on schedule, ensure safety, quality and strictly comply with technical standards.
