Song Mien Hydropower Plant has a capacity of 6MW, officially started construction in April 2009, on the Mien River, located in Bat Dai Son Commune (Quan Ba) and Na Khe Commune (Yen Minh). The project is invested by Bat Dai Son Hydropower Joint Stock Company. The total initial investment is 145 billion VND; the construction period is 30 months and all construction, testing and calibration, connection to the national grid are completed in mid-September 2011 and officially started commercial power generation on October 10, 2011. Song Mien Hydropower Plant is located about 700m from National Highway 4C; Land use area of 124.26ha... put into operation annually will supply the national and regional grid with an output of approximately 25 million kWh, industrial production value of about 23.9 billion VND, contributing significantly to overcoming the current serious power shortage as well as increasing electrical safety for Ha Giang province and the region. The factory also contributes to increasing the province's industrial output; creating jobs for local workers. In addition, the project also actively participates in flood prevention work downstream, creating favorable conditions for local people to develop socio-economic and tourism.
